During the recently organized India Refractory TechnoForum at Goa, RHI Magnesita heat management experts engaged with the technical experts from the Indian cement industry in a series of invigorating discussions on the latest technological developments in the world of refractories. How can cement be produced in a more sustainable manner reducing CO2 emission? How can the cement kiln performance be optimized for increased productivity? Which is the best suited refractory for a particular kiln condition? How can 3D laser scanning and drone technology help kiln maintenance? – were some of the many topics of discussion during the conference.
Inaugurating the two-day TechnoForum, MD & CEO, Parmod Sagar said, "We currently have about 15% of our India business coming from the Cement plants. We want to see that increasing with active support from you. We have ambitious plans for that. We are soon going to have a dedicated fired bricks facility set up in India, which will help us supply our cement customers faster and better. We have operationalized a Global R&D centre in India. We are well positioned now to service the R&D support needs locally."
Rohan Shah, Head of Sales - Industrial India, along with Bruno Juncioni, Regional Head - Sales Industrial, presented an overview of our Cement & Lime business and our capacity expansion plans. Peter Steinkellner - Global Head of Marketing - Cement & Lime and Roland Krischanitz - Product Management Expert Basic Bricks presented our Basic & Non-basic product portfolio, digital solutions and services, and solutions for carbon footprint reduction. A special presentation was made on our innovative Spinosphere Technology. It may be noted that India is one of the top two markets with the highest number of references for Ankral X series bricks which is made using the Spinosphere technology. Dr. Narendra Mishra, Head of R&D, India WA Africa, made a detailed presentation on the developments happening at the new R&D centre at Bhiwadi.
Senior leaders from the production and process departments of leading cement companies like Adani Group, Ultratech Cement, ACC, Ambuja, MP Birla, JK Cement, Shree Cement, Nuvoco and Vasavadatta Cement participated in highly interactive discussions with the experts from RHI Magnesita during the two days of the forum.
