RHI Magnesita site team successfully executed BOF relining as their first job at Odisha-based Neelachal Ispat Nigam Limited which resumed its operations recently after the acquisition by TATA Steel few months back.
Given that the site was not in operation for almost 3 years, our team faced several challenges including severe resource crunch. A part of our team was engaged for preparatory job prior to relining. The job was executed inside a confined space while ensuring utmost safety and following all the standard operating procedures. The team was able to complete about 400 t refractory installation in less than 72 hours.
