What I love about RHIM ..

With baby steps, I completed 10 years in this organization, and not only have I grown as a professional but also as an individual. The working environment here is very pleasant. I love the people with whom I work with: my coworkers, and even, most of the clients we serve. I love the empowerment and autonomy I get to do my job.

My Happy moment …

Visit to Rishikesh Haridwar in the year 2010 along with all the colleagues of RHI India. It was one of the most memorable trips of my lifetime.

My challenging moment…

I was given the responsibility of handling Letter of Credit documentation which includes communication with bankers, co-ordination with sales & finance team internally. Initially it was challenging to handle this responsibility, however gradually with the support & training I got from the organization, the challenges turned into success!

What I love about RHIM ..

RHIM gives opportunity to experiment and learn. Throws up challenges that makes one grow as a professional. Being the Global leader in refractory industry, it exposes one to Global learning and development opportunities. I have got to learn from some of the world’s best refractory technologists working along with them.

My Happy moment …

When I was able to lead my team to achieve 26% growth in dispatch value last year, which was 30% revenue of total Bhiwadi plant. It was a complete team effort under challenging circumstances which gave me even more satisfaction.

My challenging moment…

The most challenging task for me has been to training the people on the process to slash down the scrap level and successful implementation ISO 15001/14001/18001

What I love about RHIM ..

Getting to work for the worlds largest refractory company is in itself a matter of great pride for me. There is utmost focus on continuous innovation and quality improvement in whatever we do, which drives me always to work towards excellence as a R&D professional.

My Happy moment …

I have been able to put in best safety practices in the R&D lab which has resulted it recording Zero Accident since 2016 every year. This makes me happy as safety is of very high importance to the organization. Also the news of setting up of a new world class R&D center at our Bhiwadi plant really excited me, as this would open up a plethora of opportunity for me to work and learn together with our Global R&D centers in Europe and South America.

What I love about RHIM ..

Gaining and sharing knowledge had always been the driving force for me to have been working with RHIM for more than a decade now. RHIM is the perfect learning workshop for someone like me who believes in knowledge entrepreneurship where refractory is a means.

My Happy moment …

The kind of job I am into is always challenging and at times you are simply clueless as to what went wrong with the product at the customer’s end. Digging for a clue is always fun even if it is challenging and when at the end, the customer is satisfied, and remedial measures work out, it gives you the greatest joy. And fortunately, I have had many such moments of joy.

My challenging moment…

During one of my recent visits to a steel plant in the South, I tried to convince the customer about the importance of using the right quality synthetic slag for improving ladle slag-line life and that cost should not come in the way of selecting the right material. Now, this was quite a challenging thing to do as mostly, though unfortunately, the customer shies away from using such high-quality material due to cost. However, I succeeded in convincing the customer and they took up the matter suitably with a supplier of international repute that specializes in such slags.

My Happy moment …

The journey so far has been exciting with the opportunity to build the commercial function ground up & simultaneously achieving business goals. I have been a part of 2 merger processes and have seen the intermingling of cultures first hand and have seen them come together to deliver as one. One of the success stories in this journey has been the case of a large customer where Commercial & Finance teams of Dubai & India came together to deliver a superior customer experience.

My challenging moment…

While there have been a lot of challenging moments since the commercial function was envisaged but they have been overcome by the value that has been delivered in this period.

The launch of ‘Project CAPE’ to implement the CRM system of Microsoft Dynamics 365 has been one of the most important and satisfying benchmarks I have been involved, also the involvement to enable digital transformation in our region is something I am really excited and looking forward to work with everyone.

My challenging moment…

Being new to the refractories industry, it was the biggest challenge for me to understand our wider product groups and the global refractory market. But now once I understand the basic concept about it, my perspective has changed and I am looking forward to learning every day about such a growing and essential industry.
